The founder of the family Schou ("Forest/Wood") at "I Skoven" ("In the Forest/Wood") was Hans Pedersen. His wife Karen Marie Hansdatter was born at Langemyregård. Their son Rasmus Hansen took the surname Schou from the farm.

He was married to Ane Jensdatter, who was the great-granddaughter of Jens Pedersen Kofoed "The Liberator".

Both Karen Marie Hansdatter and Ane Jensdatter belongs to the Kofoed-family, and the Schou-family therefore is a Kofoed-branch, too.
